J-Link is a USB JTAG dongle from the company Segger. It is very commonly bundled with evaluation boards from some other companies.

Features

  • Atmel AT91SAM7 ARM 7 microcontroller
    • This allows the dongle to do low-level JTAG communication actions in high speed without involvement from the PC. This is faster compared to bitbanging done in the commonly used FT2232 based JTAG dongles.
  • Two ALVC164245 levelshifter transceivers
    • This provides support for 1.2V-3.3V targets and 5V tolerance.
